Quotes

Mien Ruys -
described her garden philosophy as    "A wild planting in a strong design"

"One cannot imitate nature in a garden"

 Henk Gerritsen -

"Plants that can't live without the use of chemical fertilizers or pesticides don't belong in my garden. Not in any garden by the way; you have a garden for the fun of it. A garden is art, or a hobby, if you like, but not a matter of life or death. Hence chemical fertilizers and pesticides, which are threatening the natural environment and consequently the health of all living creatures, ought to be forbidden for use in a garden."

Lemur

a new species of lemur is believed to have been found onthe island of Madagascar, it is the world's highest priority biodiversity hotspot.

It is really amazing that new species are still being discovered, in a time where we know so much yet the natural world can still surprise us.

Labyrinths

Classical Seven-Circuit Labyrinth
Mazes have high walls, offer many different choices, and are essentially left-brain puzzles. Labyrinths have low walls, offer only one choice, “Are you coming in?”, and are magical tools that enhance intuition and spiritual growth.
The oldest positively dated labyrinth is from 1230 BCE (plus/minus). It comes from King Nestor's Palace in Phylos, Greece. Nestor was at Troy with King Priam.

I was thinking about mazes but did'nt want anything that complicated this is when i came up with the idea of labyrinths they are fun and good for public spaces as children can play in them while their parents relax but can still see them.

Designing

It is has been a while since i have done any design drawing may last year the Big sheet of white paper is quite daunting but it is exciting to be doing it again after so long the first pen stroke is always the hardest.
So i have my site and i have a plan at 1:500 i have my vision and a brief needs abit of work!
Three sketch designs on the three words Connective, Educational, Alternative to be almost done for our tutorial friday. Bit scary but Fun!
This designing while in the class would of course be easier if there were proper drawing boards and enough for everyone, they were tiny and so cramped together you could hardly move but at least i got one Can't work on a flat table. Never thought i would say it but one up to Hadlow the drawing studio was great.
